Iredell Friends of the Library Annual Meeting: The Dickens Nobody Knows
Join our Friends for their annual meeting featuring guest speaker Dr. Elliot Engel, who will be presenting his lecture "The Dickens Nobody Knows".
About the lecture:
As great as his literary reputation remains today, Charles Dickens suffers from such an incomplete portrait in the minds of his readers. Professor Engel rescues him by enthusiastically tracing his astonishing life and writing career. Using biography, analysis, and large doses of humor, Dr. Engel reveals an author far more fascinating than the immortal characters he created in his novels.
Tickets are $20, and can be purchased at the front desk of the Statesville library.
Attendees will also receive a complimentary Friends of the Library canvas tote on the day of the program as thanks for supporting the library.
